• Control standard cost maintenance for all finished goods and component materials as represented on the SAP.
• Produce product costings, commercial analysis and other ad-hoc costing exercises for presentation to plant management for approval.
• This will lead to submissions to the marketing team for consideration regarding product profitability.
• Validate the value of all current stocks on hand in all relevant locations.
• This refers to valuation and the integrity of the corresponding Balance Sheet representation of finished goods, WIP, raw materials and packaging.
• Continuous review of the adequacy of stock provisions in respect of faulty, aged or obsolete stock items.
• Preparation of the annual cost budget. This includes all component budgets such as labour, materials, packaging, variable and fixed overheads.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for senior management. Specifically, this covers production performance, purchase price variance, material usage and labour analysis. Developing / expanding on existing reports is also a consideration.
• Interact with Materials, I.T., Production, Purchasing & Quality Assurance departments to ensure the integrity of all relevant standing data SAP.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies relating to stock management and assist in maintaining proper documentation of internal controls as required under Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
• Ensure that you/and your team comply with all environmental health and safety regulations and standards on site. Through your actions ensure compliance to safe working practices from implementation through to positive enforcement/re-enforcement both personally and with your team.
Requirements.
The role would be filled typically by a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant with strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience. A general business qualification would be an added advantage. Three years experience would be required with the majority of this time spent in a manufacturing environment.

• Experienced user of Microsoft Excel.
• Initiative and ability to work to short deadlines.
• Team player who can communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• SAP experience would be an advantage but not essential.
• The Job holder must support the management system with specific responsibilities for the implementation, maintenance and improvement of Quality & Safety codes that support particular area of ownership.
